We have visited some airports on our tour through the northern part of Germany including stops at the above mentioned airports. Enjoy the pictures from airfields you might have not heard of before.
Spotting at the largest airport in the German Baltic Sea area is very easy! The airport is easy to access and offers a nice visitor terrace. Amongst domestic services to Cologne, Stuttgart and
Frankfurt for instance, Helvetic offers flights into Zurich as one of the few international destinations being served from here.
There is a lot of Lufthansa Flight Training at Laage for pilot training!
The airport also features a huge German Air Force hub!
A lovely small airfield a few miles west of Stralsund is a breeze to explore. Friendly employees offering access to the airfield, right in time to the arrival of our Federal Chancellor Mrs. Angela Merkel with her helicopter of the German Air Force!
The daily Russian heavies after sunrise in Leipzig. Note the second Antonov 124 in the background with some carapace on board.
A lovely Airbus A319 private jet awaiting its passengers for a VIP service - almost three hours behind the original departure time.
Some pictures from Berlin's busiest airport - Tegel. It was a rather fresh April morning when we checked out the visitors terrace. The Air Italy and Blue Panorama aircraft were rather unexpected as they were chartered for the Internation Tourism Stock Exchange which took place in Berlin at that time.
Last but not least: An Airbus A300F by MNG Cargo and a Tupulev 204C by DHL resting at the DHL Cargo Apron in the southeast of the airport. The Tupolev aircraft regularly flies into Leipzig
serving a Aviastar TU route between Moscow and Halle.
